Check the display without its stand
Find the exact monitor model, weight without the original stand, VESA pattern and any mounting restrictions. Check whether an adapter is required and whether the monitor maker permits it. A curved or unusually wide display may have additional limits beyond its diagonal measurement.
Compare the arm’s published limits for the correct aspect ratio and orientation. A model that supports one ultrawide in landscape is not automatically suitable for every portrait arrangement.
Inspect the desk before the clamp
Measure the desk thickness where the clamp will sit and check its construction. Edges, cable trays and reinforcing frames can reduce the available mounting area. Confirm the desk maker’s guidance, particularly for hollow, glass or otherwise delicate surfaces.
Choose between a clamp and a grommet fixing using the relevant instructions. A grommet mount needs an appropriate opening and supporting surface. Do not assume a desk’s existing cable hole is structurally suitable.
Plan movement and cable slack
Consider the monitor’s position when seated, its distance from a wall and the space behind the desk. Leave suitable cable slack without creating snag points. Read the mount and display instructions together before installation; get appropriate help if you cannot safely support the screen during fitting.
Tidcore has not installed or load-tested the example below. Its specifications support a fit checklist, not a promise that it will hold an unknown monitor on an unknown desk.
Put the checks next to a real example.
